The state-of-the-art VMFA on the Road Artmobile -- a traveling exhibit and education studio -- is coming to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum and will be open to school groups,drop-in visitors, and Bristol Rhythm festivalgoers from September 8 to September 12, 2021!
Pat "Mother Blues" Cohen's powerful voice, humor and deep blues bring the audience to their feet. Featured in the Our Living Past special exhibit, Pat's vibrancy and love for the music jumps out of her portrait, and we are excited to have that coming to our Performance Theater stage on Saturday, September 25, 7:00pm!
Get spooky with Affrilachian storyteller Lyn Ford! Lyn will explore the importance of Affilachian storytelling within Appalachia communities.
"Houses of the Lord, a photography exhibit by artist Amy Shumaker, details the many architectural and theological styles of the Appalachian Christian subculture.
The Way We Worked explores how work became such a central element in American culture by tracing the many changes that affected the workforce and work environments over the past 150 years. Visitors can also explore the local and regional history of work in a supplementary display created by the Birthplace of Country Music curatorial team.
